Very productive few days

I have finished my Friends with Benefits swap. I can't post pictures yet but I will certainly do as soon as the parcel arrives at its new home.  I am hoping that Leanne gets the parcel safe and sound.

Easter Sunday we travelled to Parkes NSW in an old Steam Train. It took us 70 minutes to get there and only 30 minutes to get home.

Over the Easter weekend I basted more Hexies for my Vignette quilt.

Monday's plan was to baste my Tis the Season quilt in the morning and quilt it in the afternoon.

My plan was followed.  I quilted my Tis the Season quilt with Kylie's help. We spray basted the quilt first using Sullivan's spray.
I quilted with my machine.  I sewed around each block(stitchery/two small borders), I also quilted the outer border of the green strip. I didn't want to quilt it too much.
I mitred the binding fabric (a new skill I am developing, thank goodness Kylie was visiting me!) and attached it to the quilt after I created a label and a hanging sleeve.

After the kids were all in bed I sewed down the binding, label and hanging sleeve. I was spoilt with the random cup of coffee and words of wisdom by Kylie.

I am so so so happy to have my quilt complete and ready for Christmas 2012.  I hope I will be able to locate it when the time comes!

Yay another finish for the month of April.

Until next time... Happy stitching
