New glasses... New vision.

Today the postman brought my new glasses.
I didn't realise how bad my eyes were getting, my glasses were obviously not working.

I sort of wish I didn't get new glasses as I can now see the flaws in my stitching. Well I am a little hard on myself!

FNWF

Last night I completed the stitching on my Urban Stitches.

It is circular the picture is distorted!

Now to make circular templates to cut out the designs to make the bag, pincushion and scissor fob.

Check out Cherylls blog to see what other people did last night.

Chain Stitching.

I am back chain stitching the circle around the embroidery.

I started to slow Down my stitching in the hope the thread would last. No it made no difference. Lol. I can't locate the red I used, it will turn up but not looking now.

I also had a great idea that I would mount this into a square art easel and not an embroidery hoop but the fabric is not side enough. So hoop it will be.

Today my youngest began her final year of primary school.

New uniform was brought and ironed before she woke up and was kept clean until she brushed her teeth and the listerine landed in the dress.

I will take a better picture tomorrow.

Bridie also had a check up at the orthodontist this morning and she came away with green teeth.

If it means she wants braces all is good.

You can see that her tooth doesn't overlap her big tooth very happy so far.

Back to Canberra.

Our coastal holiday had come to an end.

Yesterday Bridie, her friend Claudia, mum  and I went out on Shoalhaven River for a quick ride in dad's boat. ( This boat was towed down the coast by me in mums tida.).

When we got back to the park Bridie and Claudia ride the double seated bike for an hour around the park.

The girls shared the peddling.

Mum and I went for a swim in the pool as it was sooo hot. We sat on the spa alcove and the kids kept turning the bubbles on for us which was delightful.

This morning we drive home up over the Blue Mountains via Nerriga, Tarago and Bungendore, with only 1km of dirt I was more than happy.

Tonight I have been stitching. I have finished the stitching for the scissor fob and the small bag.

Tonight I worked on the pin cushion design which I started last night.

Stitching.

First stitching design finished for 2014. A Rosalie Quinlan design. Urban sewing set.

This stitchery is for the sewing bag.

Below are some photos of the girls are opening their presents. I have not seen the girls since they finish school so it is great to have them home.

I think Talia liked her iPad.

Bridie liking her shirt.

Stitching stitching and more stitching

Making progress on my new project.

I am going to work on finishing a table runner this weekend, in between dentist visits and dance concerts.

Saturday the girls return for their first dental check up at 8 am. Then by one they need to be dressed, makeup and hair ready for their matinee dance concert and return later on Saturday night for the evening concert. I will not be going to my work Xmas party as it is on Saturday night.

Tomorrow is Talias last day of year 9. She has been attending peer support classes to ensure she is a good leader doe the new year seven students in 2014.

Bridie is eagerly awaiting the announcement of school captain on Monday night, 8 girls nominated so who knows. She was happy that two people voted for her.

New project

When I went to the stitching day in Wagga I was given this pattern designed by the gorgeous Rosalie Quinlan.

I was looking for something a little different to start so I picked up the kit and have begun.

The linen is pink. I can see light parts in those satin stitch leaves so I am thinking of going back and filling them in.

Dinner view

Tuesday night  I went to Doyle's for tea. It is at circular quay. I had salmon which was delicious.

This is what I saw out the window.

The Sydney opera house and

The Sydney harbour bridge.

I was able to do some sewing.
I finished instalment one of BFF. Very happy.

Just have to write one more assignment, an assessment presentation. Right will start by reading the notes on the flight home.

I am home briefly, actually head off in half an hour!  Travelling five hours to work with teachers in Balranald. Have packed some sewing but I think my assignment might take priority, after dinner with a friend.

Tuesday BFF night

Last night I spent working on this design. The last one for instalment one.

I say with other Facebook BFF ladies.

It's was a night of chain stitching. There is so much I think I will be able to do it in my sleep. So far it has taken me one month per design.

Best Friends Forever

PLast night Kylie and I linked up to work on our BFF instalment one.  We both have joined Country Hart for this BOM. Kylie lives over 600 km away so it is great that technology is allowing is to stitch together.

During the night we text updates and messages of support.

This is my result.

I have begun the green chain stitch.

This is what Kylie did.

Kylie is a beautiful sewer and not as quick as me.

Hope we can link up again soon.
