Back in 2006 I bought a quilt kit from a visiting Patchwork shop. This shop each year would set up a display at our monthly gathering for all of us to admire and splurge!
I couldn't resist this quilt kit.
This was the first quilt I have created with such a 'challenging' block. I was not too confident in doing it so I kept the kit aside so that I could complete it when I had Long Service Leave from primary teaching. I took the final term off in 2008 and thought yes this was my time to make my Long Service Quilt. Little did I know that also during this leave I would be packing up the house, children and myself and leaving Balranald for Forbes, NSW.
The quilt top was put together during the first part of my leave and put away in a box for quilting. My friend Wanda Taylor from Off Road Quilting has a quilting machine and I asked if she could quilt it for me, which she did and I am so happy with the result. The quilting is not fancy it is an overall design of a flower. Hope you can see some of the detail in the photo below. Sorry the photo looks like it is upside down.

I have been stitching the designs for my Simple Pleasures quilt each night.
I have completed 4 out of the 12 and I am loving how they are coming together.Sorry about having to lay down to see the picture properly....
So excited to say that I remembered to sign up for the Santa Sack Swap hosted by Cheryll. I am an even number so I think I am in.... I can't wait to meet my partner...
Now to make a list of things that could be put in the Santa Sack... all ideas welcome....
