Xmas ornaments

the three ornaments I started on the weekend have now been completed.

Very happy with the finished edge. I tried a button hole stitch but it just didn't look any good so.....

I did some reverse stitching and decided a running stitch around the edge might be the way to go.

I like it so much better.

I can see more of these ornaments being made.

May tick for One Xmas item a month. (yes there are three but it is one set!)

1 Xmas item a month

Have had this block finished for a while and decided when I found it I should finish it.

I did. I quilted around the letters and Santa.
Added the backing.
Stitched in the ditch along the border.
Then sewed the edge.

I love the small Xmas hanging. One to add to the list.

Head over to Narelle from Pins and Whiskers to see what other people have made this month. http://pinsandwhiskers.blogspot.com.au/p/1-xmas-item-2013.html

This is what was achieved.

More Christmas items to put in my sack

Each Xmas item I am making will go straight into my Santa Sack made for me last year by Christine.  I just love the sack so much I didn't want to put it away.

February's Xmas items were finished yesterday while I sewed at Nellies Patchwork Shop.
The pattern is from Pins and Whiskers.  I bought this a couple of years ago from the Canberra quilt and craft show.  I fell in love with it as my dear friends loves Babushkas and as you can see there is a decoration stitched above.   Mmmm best get in and make her one!

I loved the purple thread Christine game me at Christmas time, I just had to use it to stitch these decorations.

So far I am keeping up with all the blogs I am a part of...

1 Xmas item a month and hope my parcel arrived

It has been over a week since I sent my parcel for initial heart swap. I hope that the parcel arrived safely to my swap partner. I would hate to think she thought I didn't send anything.

Work has begun on February's Xmas item. I am making some tree decorations. I am using the thread Christine put in my Santa Sack.
