Sydney Day One

After a 5am start, a four hour train ride from Canberra we arrived safe and sound in Sydney.

During the ride I was able to blanket stitch some of my playing around from yesterday.

My Aunty and cousin were waiting for us at Central station, and it was so good to see them. They had news that my two other cousins and their children were also meeting us.

We all walked from Central down to Pitt Street mall on the way we booked in to our motel and dropped off our luggage.

Here is Bridie with my cousins youngest daughter Emily at lunch. This was after we saw a friend from Forbes.

Before the girls, mum and I walked down to circular quay and had a coffee from Starbucks I ran in to one of the teachers and a good friend of mine from Hillston. Was great to see Emma and meet her husband Ben and the three kids.

We walked all the way back to our motel,  4 Kms up Pitt Street and had a bit if a rest.

Dinner was eaten at Macchiatos, a woodfire pizza oven restaurant right near
Where I attend many meetings for work!

Here it is 8pm and already the girls are asleep. We have two king size beds in the room.

Here is Bridie sleeping up the wrong way.

Mum is playing games on her phone while I write this post.

Tomorrow:

- Paddy's market
- Darling Harbour
- meeting cousins and aunties
the Lion King stage show.  I went when it was in Melbourne and wanted to take the girls so very excited we all are.

Bridies special early birthday celebration

This week there has been four birthday celebrations in Bridies  class.

Today was Bridies turn to take in a cake to share with the class, even though she is 11 on Saturday.

The local Bakehouse made this fantastic cake. It was a marble cake, chocolate and vanilla. The kids all loved the cake which made Bridie feel special.

After lunch Bridies school was treated to a surprise concert by the gorgeous Celia Pavey. The catholic education office was also invited to attend this special event.

It was magical, Celia is even better singing in real life. Amazing.

After The concert each class was able to have a picture with Celia. Bridie positioned herself well. Getting close enough to put a hand on Celias shoulder.

It made cropping kids out of the picture easier!

Tonight I have been working on more appliqué.

Tomorrow night Bridie Is having a friend sleep over so it will be McDonalds
For tea.

Saturday is the big birthday.
We are heading over to Parkes on Saturday to go to Pizza Hut for Lunch. Bridies choice. Looking forward to this yummy lunch.

Saturday Fun

I mowed my lawns today. Gee they look much better. Each time I went to mow it rained. So all mowed ready for the next down pour.

This afternoon I headed to the shop for an afternoon of sewing.

I ironed on the cut out pieces from yesterday.

I did some quilting.

My pin cushion and a wall hanging.

Tonight, after a great deal if frustration I am sewing down the binding in my wall hanging.

Talia is the only one home tonight. Bridie is with her father. Candice will meet up with them after work.

Great night to cuddle up under a quilt with a warm cup of coffee. Might go put the kettle on.

Eggs or flowers

This is a little something I am working on. Looks like a basket of eggs!!!!

Really it is a basket of flowers. I am not sewing the centre circles on the flowers as the fabric is busy enough.
