Email name issues lol

Well thank goodness Chooky mentioned my email was coming up as Simons. When I added my email to my new iPhone 6 autocorrect must have kicked in.

Now I have changed the name and all is good. Apologies to those who received emails from Simons.

I have been ploughing through my BFF stitcheries. Since coming to mums house I have completed three.

Here is my latest finish.

I had Kylie come to my rescue last night she kindly took photos of the BFF stitching guide and sent them to me. I went to start my new instalment but I had left the stitching guide at home.

I am thankful for my friends.

Enjoy the rest of your day.
Simone.

Returned to an old faithful

Last night I began stitching instalment four for Rosalie Quinlan's BFF.

I have also signed up to Cherylls Santa sack Swap for 2014.

My partner was emailed to me yesterday and before I had a chance to read Cherylls email there was an email from Sharon all the way from New Zealand.

I have responded and Wait her reply.

I am very excited to be a part of this swap again in 2014.

New glasses... New vision.

Today the postman brought my new glasses.
I didn't realise how bad my eyes were getting, my glasses were obviously not working.

I sort of wish I didn't get new glasses as I can now see the flaws in my stitching. Well I am a little hard on myself!

Return to work

After having a relaxing break I have returned to work with my skates on.

So far we have had two meetings if teachers at our office. I have been busily preparing presentations for these events and have found myself having unsettled nights.

So tonight I decided I needed to get some stitching done. So I have been working on my BFF stitcheries.

Tonight I sewed the pink flower stems, the blue dots, three green chain stitch stems and the single leaf

Another meeting tomorrow. Looking forward to Friday where I can sit at my desk to plan for next weeks meetings.

Holidays... Easter Saturday

Saturday started early.

The Balranald retirement hostel held its Easter  Fair. Lots of stalls and goodies were on sale. I only bought some cakes!

Coffee and the local bakery was also planned and boy they were flat out. Five walked out ten walked in. The street was crowded I guess the famy reunion and travellers filled up the streets.

Have to share this...
My youngest spent Easter with her Aunty and they had a reunion. So the family photo of all those who attended was taken and front and centre was Bridie she is not even a part of the family.

This is the completed stitchery. (Now to find some fabric to border it with. The red bag houses my red work stitcheries. A gift from Carol!).

Best Friends

Tonight I finished stitching my Best friends block for my BFF.

I have stitched this while spending a few days with my great friend Ange, in Balranald, south-west NSW.

I visited the house I sold last year as my friend is renting it. My goodness it is amazing. Will have to get more pictures before I leave Wednesday.

Slow down.

I wish the year would slow down. It is going by so fast.

I have begun studying again. My first online unit perspectives in Leadership, the fifth unit towards my masters of Educational leadership. I am no scholar but will have a go again.

These past weeks have been super busy at work. There have been a number of conferences held in the office which had mean lots of early starts late finishes and nights out.

I have been sewing and have been working in a BFF design.

I would hate to think how many little stitches I have sewn on this one.

Hope your day is great.

For the love of chain stitching!!!!!

I have arrived safe and sound in Canberra. Met mum and my sister for lunch and a spot of shopping.

Back at mums I pulled out my BFF project and have been working in chain stitching. OMG I am having trouble with consistency, too big too small, too tight, too small.

Oh well as a wise best friend once told me "In the big picture you won't notice it!"  Thanks Ange for the wise words as I often tell myself this.

Take care.

Very slow in stitching but with all my secret sewing completed I can get back to it

BFF sewing.

Tonight I picked up my BFF instalment two. I finished the apples and some of the leaves.

This is a blurred mess of my Santa sack swap goodies. Planned to wrap these last night and they remain unwrapped. December is around the corner so best wrap quickly and post the parcel off.

Dinner view

Tuesday night  I went to Doyle's for tea. It is at circular quay. I had salmon which was delicious.

This is what I saw out the window.

The Sydney opera house and

The Sydney harbour bridge.

I was able to do some sewing.
I finished instalment one of BFF. Very happy.

Just have to write one more assignment, an assessment presentation. Right will start by reading the notes on the flight home.

I am home briefly, actually head off in half an hour!  Travelling five hours to work with teachers in Balranald. Have packed some sewing but I think my assignment might take priority, after dinner with a friend.

Tuesday BFF night

Last night I spent working on this design. The last one for instalment one.

I say with other Facebook BFF ladies.

It's was a night of chain stitching. There is so much I think I will be able to do it in my sleep. So far it has taken me one month per design.

Here we are again.....

Lovely frost this morning was chilly all day.

But lets celebrate BFF Tuesday.

I sewed the yellow and blue flowers and three green leaves.

Planning has begun for my essay. Will be refining the plan over the coming week.

Also, have had a couple of messages about my house

- one son rang for his mother wanting to rent, think might want to buy but is waiting for house sale to go through

- other message was from a renter.

Fingers crossed I might get a sale.

BFF Tuesday

Progress is being made on instalment one.

Last night I stitched the pink writing, the red heart and beak and some green leaves.

Over the next few nights I need to study. I have lectures Friday and Saturday and then have an essay to write. My focus needs to be on the essay writing and not stitching or sewing. I need lots of will power!

Tuesday is BFF night

Tuesday night was celebrated in style....

The teapot is completed and the trunk is stitched.

Best Friends Forever

Tonight I joined up with some of the ladies on the BFF Facebook group and stitched more of my BFF instalment one.

This week I finished the teapot and satin stitch flower.

At this rate I might finish in two years time. At this stage my Tuesday night is dedicated to BFF.

Sewing this block evoked a special memory.
When I lived in Balranald, Saturday mornings were dedicated to going down to the bakery for breakfast with my BFF. (We gave been friends for about 11 years!)
It was a great end of the week ritual. After breakfast we  walked the street dropping in to shops that were open.
We would meet up again after lunch for sewing sessions.

Mmmmm haven't been back to Balranald since January and was hoping to get there this past weekend but unfortunately it didn't happen.

Need to go soon.
