Lots of stitching.

I am back working on a number of stitching projects.

Here is the beginning of block two of Garden of Friendship.  The black is the basting that is attaching the wadding to the fabric.  Loving the cuteness of these blocks. 8 1/2 to go...

The manager of my local patchwork shop said that I had as long as needed to finish the blocks as long as they were as pretty as the first one.  Same colours are being used so I guess they will be the same.

Here is another stitched strip ready for a new pincushion.  Cannot wait to sew some fabric on this one.  Have to wait and see what I need for my bag before I can use this orange piece.

I have also begun the stitching on my Red Home back, number 2.  The background fabric is as orange as the strip above but my flash wasn't working too well so it looks quite washed out.  This weekend I am going to cut the fabric to use for this bag and then I can make the pin cushion again.

I have also found some traced designs for  a candle holder mat and some coasters for Christmas.  I am going to be finishing these off for my 1 Xmas Item a Month project.

I am off to Sydney on Wednesday, for the night so I need to pack my university readings as Friday is the start of my studying again.

My aim is to complete a Masters in Education Leadership/ Masters of Religious Education.  This will only take me 3 years!!!!!
I have already completed two Religion units at Masters level last time I studied.  The degree enables me to lead in a Catholic school, if that is what I would like to do...

Friday night was a very productive night

1. Finished tracing the Nine blocks for the Friendship quilt I am stitching (will post updates when I begin)

2. Finished my Stirch-a-Long March project- SKOW pin cushion

3. Traced another pin cushion design. (This will be added to my Birthday Love Stash box)

4. Traced the stitchery for my True Friends Tote bag. You may remember I gave my bag away.

5. I began stitching the pin cushion design. It is an orange background and I am using blue thread. ( I wanted to test it out so when I stitch the bag I will be right with colour choice. I think it works.)

New fabric

Tuesday I took my True Friends Tote Bag to work.

One of my colleagues loved it and asked if i would make one for her friend.
This lady is struggling with ill health, she is at an emotional low.

Being the kind hearted lady I can be I emptied my bag and handed it over.

I said," Please give the bag to her if it will make her happy."
Well she would just accept my gift and rang around and asked some ladies at work for a price. She gave me some money for it, more than I ever expected. She wouldn't take no.

Now I didn't have the bag but I had some mone. So what option does a girl have other than head down to the local patchwork shop to purchase more fabric to make a new bag.

I love Riley Blakes sunshine range so I bought some and contrasting oranges along with some ric rac.

Now I am looking forward to the weekend and some time for prepping and sewing another bag.

True Friends Tote Bag

A great day today.

Went out to watch some skiing this morning at Bundarrah. It was fantastic. We met up with a work colleague and her family. Bridie and I went for a ride in the ski boat and loved it when we 'flew' in the air and shifted in our seat as we turned around.

Back at home I sewed a face washer onto an art short for a friends kinder daughter and also repaired a handle on a hand bag.

As I was sewing my eldest daughter dropped in for a visit. She stayed for an hour.

After Candice left Bridie and I went to drop off the art shirt and bag and ended up visiting for a couple of hours. When we got home I was able to sit down and sew the front and back blocks for my tote bag. I quilted it very simply but love how it looks.

Tonight I am going to sew more of my Girls Day Out and iron the school uniforms ready for the week.

Had a great weekend after a very sleepy Friday night.
