FNWF......Adding borders...

Friday night I joined into Friday night with Friends. I spent time knitting more rows on my Hitchhiker scarf. I now have 4 points to go. But I am thinking of using the second ball to make it even bigger.

Saturday and Sunday I spent time at my machine. Poor thing must be feeling neglected but gee it is good to working on this quilt top.

Natures Journey is a pattern designed by the talented Anni from Hatched and Patched. This quilt top began as part of the stitch a long run by Chooky. I completed all the appliqué and cut out the fabric towards the end of 2015.

This weekend I have added the checkerboard border and also added the appliqué border. The weekend is not over and I still have two borders to add.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get a child to leave the confines of her bedroom to hold the quilt top so the top borders folder over the clothesline.

Thanks for dropping by..... Simone

Background pieced together

I am so pleased I had some time to piece my background. I didn't read the instructions properly and had to piece the large block back together. But I am happy with the result.

I haven't finished June blocks.

I have moved house! I am now back on the mortgage pathway. I am very excited to be in a great house.

This is my living area. Photo is taken leaning up against the kitchen bench.

I am nearly all sorted and can now start back on these blocks.

So glad to be back. Now I need to catch up in all the posts I have missed.

Friday Night Sew In and a finish

Last night I joined Wendy and other ladies for

I sewed down my binding on the quilt below.

I have posted about this recently. I began this quilt back in 2012 and am happy to day I have finished.

The hand stitching the machine sewing and quilting is all my own work.

Yay one quilt finish for 2014.

So close...

To my first quilt finish for 2014.

One of my very good friends who happened to be the principal at the primary school I taught at gave me this pattern, Simply Pleasures.  I am happy to say the quilt is nearly finished.

The quilting is done and tonight I sewed on the binding. My weekend task is to stitch it down.

I just love how the quilt looks.

Also tonight I ventured in to unknown waters. I had an attempt at stippling.

It is very dodgy but with practice it can only get better.

Saturday sewing. One more sleep...

Saturday I headed to Parkes for a quick trip.

Groceries all done for the week, except for the milk.

Full up at our newly built Woolworths Caltex garage.

Then headed to the shop for an afternoon of sewing.

Progress was made on my Sewing Angel Toolstore.

This is the cover.

And this is the lining.

One pocket stitched.

I also got my fabrics ready for my Stitch-a-long August project.

Here is the pattern.

These are the fabrics I bought today, a grey fabric for the gusset of the bag and purple for the lining and squares.

These fabrics combined with fabrics I already had are below.

Not sure if  I am going to fussy cut the dolls for all, or have some large squares with the stitcheries as well.

Best think about it as August is going to busy with uni unit 3 starting again.

ONE MORE SLEEP INTIL I GET TO OPEN THESE.

A finish...

My table topper is finished.

It is a little off centre but that means it is handmade!

Oh the background is my new rug for the lounge room.

Bought it from Discount Daves. Very good price.

Single figures

Tonight I have been working on my circles. Down to 9!

My sewing machine is back next weekend so i can't sew the baskets together until it has been serviced.

Might have to sew the circles on the tongues by hand.
